What it does
- A real strobe. The strobe drifts while you’re off pitch, yellow when flat and orange when sharp, and settles green when you’re there.
- Rock-steady tracking. A YIN pitch engine with octave-error protection. The needle sits still on a held note and snaps when you turn a peg.
- Standalone Apple Watch tuner. The Watch listens with its own mic, no iPhone needed, and taps your wrist the moment you lock in. Turn the Digital Crown to boost sensitivity when the instrument is at arm’s length.
- 7 instruments, 17 tunings. Guitar (Standard, Drop D, Half and Full Step Down, Open G, Open D, Open E, Double Drop D, DADGAD), bass (EADG, Drop D, 5-string BEADG), ukulele, mandolin, violin, cello, banjo. Or free chromatic.
- The details. Reference pitch A4 = 432 to 444 Hz, live cents readout with a pitch trail, strobe or needle-bar display, haptic confirmation on iPhone and Watch.
Apple Watch tip
To keep the tuner on screen with your wrist down: Settings › Display & Brightness › Always On › Show Apps, include BumbleBee Tuner, and set General › Return to Clock to anything other than Always.
